![]() ![]() I also do not understand why RT Systems has not simply made their software internet based at this point with an annual subscription? In the end it would benefit Yaesu as well as it's customers if they do it all themselvres over the internet. ![]() In this day and age, it makes no sense at all that Apple or Mac Users are not supported in programming their Amateur Radios in a safe and secure way. I take it you are saying in your thread, that Chirp supports and programs the Yaesu FT-2900, but does not list or support the programming of the new Yaesu FT-2980? Yaesu reports that the cable, the USB-29F allows users with HT Systems YPS-2980 Programming Software to be able to program the FT-2980 and also they believe the old FT-2900 Program from RT Systems will also program the FT-2980.įor those interested, I have been speaking with Endouf in the Technical Service Department at Yaesu and I have made the suggestion that they consider creating an internet based software themselves, that will support Microsoft Machines and Apple-Mac's through the various Internet Browsers. Michael Johnston, KD2IYI, I saw your response to the Amateur that apparently turned his Yaesu FT-2980 into a Brick programming it with Chirp.
